Our client is a privately held, secondary lead-smelting company that operates lead-acid battery recycling facilities in three locations throughout the United States. A unionized company, they are extremely focused on protecting the environment. Because the firm employs state-of-the-art technology and a highly skilled workforce, they can readily assure that the lead-acid batteries are recycled into refined lead without any harm to the environment, employees or communities. Environmental Manager
Middletown, New York
In this essential role, you will champion all activities related to environmental air and water permit requirements, as well as adherence to general DEC and EPA regulations, as they relate to plant operations. This position also manages the water treatment facility and scrubber to ensure that all water processes are within permit requirements and limits. Finally, the Environmental Manager oversees the baghouse operations and maintenance, as well as all environmental monitoring systems. To qualify, you should possess, at minimum, a Bachelors degree in Environmental or Engineering, plus 5 years of water quality and water treatment experience (air quality is highly desired); at least 2 years must have been spent in environmental compliance. Youll need at least 1 year of hands-on management experience, as well.
