7 Full-time 10 hours ago Full Job Description Under the direction of the Provider or Registered Nurse, the Medical Assistant is responsible for the delivery of patient care in an office setting while maintaining professional standards.
Graduate of Accredited Medical Assistant Program preferred.
Functions as a member of a team committed to quality patient care.
Takes initiative to keep informed of new/revised Policy and Procedures, Standards of Care and incorporates these into practice.
Reports patient safety issues/concerns to a supervisor or director of nursing and documents appropriately.
Demonstrates ability to complete sessions based on thorough understanding of nursing and office policy and procedures.
Collaborates with members of the care team including primary care physicians, nurses office staff, care managers and others to assist in patient care.
Demonstrates knowledge of and abides by established rooming guidelines.
Maintains appropriate office records and ensures that charts are up to date at the start of each session.
Demonstrates proficiency in obtaining vital signs; documents and reports findings as appropriate.
Assists providers and nurses with patient specific quality measures and ensures that the patient's experience is excellent Correctly identifies patients using patient name and date of birth per policy and procedure.
Complies with CDC and Practice Hand Hygiene Guidelines.
Queries patients for presence of pain; documents appropriately and reports to nurse/provider.
Queries patients about tobacco use/readiness to quit; documents in EHR and reports to the nurse/provider.
Reconciles patient medications and communications discrepancies to physician for final verification.
Demonstrates proficiency in Phlebotomy.
Labels specimens in the presence of the patient per policy and procedure.
Ensures proper handling and documentation of pathology specimens.
Understands and follows established guidelines pertaining to blood borne pathogens and adheres to office policy regarding personal protective equipment.
Demonstrates ability to respond to in-office emergencies.
Contacts cancelations and schedules appointments for patients as directed by the nurse/provider.
Contacts patients to verify appointments as directed by the nurse/provider.
Assists with procedures as required and chaperones the provider during exams or procedures as necessary.
Maintains supply inventories and equipment necessary for the effective performance of the job.
Stocks exam rooms prior to each session and maintains a clean environment in the exam room.
Ensures that waste is emptied at the beginning of each session; following established guidelines for the safe handling and disposal of medical waste.
Assists in the orientation of new clinical personnel as requested.
Participates in Practice Performance Improvement activities.
Verbalizes an understanding of their role in identifying and reporting suspected abuse according to policy and procedure.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
