Summary:
The DevOps Engineer works with various departments and business segments to develop, create and implement systems software that will be used to analyze & improve existing data/software. The DevOps Engineer aims to increase productivity among Balchem's business entities by developing and streamlining existing applications. In this role the DevOps Engineer will work with various staff members including professional, sales, administrative, and clerical personnel to develop new and support existing software solutions. These solutions include using tools such as Crystal Reports, Microsoft Office, SSRS, Power Platform, and SharePoint. The engineer must exercise independent judgment, determine priorities, as well as demonstrate the ability to work outside of their area of expertise in order to learn and implement new solutions.
Essential Functions:
Answer staff questions in person, by phone and via ticket system on all company supported applications Consult with user community to gather information about reporting needs, objectives, functions, features, and input and output requirements Confirm project requirements by reviewing program objective, input data, and output requirements with requesting user or user group Investigate user problems, identify their source, determine possible solutions, test, implement and document resolutions for future reference Diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues Encodes project requirements by converting workflow information into the most appropriate programming language Perform software installations and upgrades Work with vendors in a collaborative manner to resolve issues and bring about product enhancements Assist in the implementation of major system changes, systems integration and data migration Learn fundamental operations of commonly used software, hardware, and other equipment Understand complexity, and interdependencies of the various systems, applications and infrastructure deployed in support of information technology services Follows all safety policies and procedures including use of safety equipment (PPE) and equipment safeguards Other duties as assigned REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent and a minimum of 2 to 4 years of related experience Experience with networking protocols Experience with various programming and scripting languages Experience with database administration Experience with multi-tier web-based applications using Windows Server (IIS), Microsoft Visual Studio, ASP.NET, MVC, and Microsoft SQL Server Experience with source control systems such as GitHub or Azure DevOps Experience with reporting tools with SSRS and Power BI Experience with Microsoft Operating systems and Microsoft office applications such as Outlook, Excel and Word Demonstrate interpersonal skills and abilities particularly the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to organize resources and establish priorities Ability to learn, install, configure and maintain various computer system hardware and software. Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
DevOps & Site ReliabilityEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
